Central Government has announced excise duty exemption on flyash products
utilizing more than 25% of fly ash, besides relief on import duty on capital
investment for setting up such plants.
Various origination involved in the housing construction are also taking
step to encourages the use of fly ash products in building. HUDCO has issued
direction to housing boards to use fly ash bricks as far as possible depending
upon the availability.
Some state governments are aalso encouraging the use of fly ash related
products but they shouil;d ensure the such as Tax holidays and exemption
of various other duties.
NTPC as per their comprehensive ash utilization policies, the incentives
offered include technical and managerial assistance, marketing information,
acquainting them with procedure / systems for assistance from financial
institutions, assistance for formulation of joint venture company with
NTPC as a minority partner based on techno-economic examination in specific
cases, making available land, steam, water and electricity depending on
the availability subjects to techno-economic feasibility etc. The supply
should be assured at the door of the user with transport chargeable from
user at subsidized rate. The transport facility with subsidy is important
for fly ash use specifically in bricks, blocks and road construction where
cost is the main factor.
